 What is Media Justice Fellowship?
The Media Justice Fellowship program is a residential training program for journalists and lawyers across Nigeria.

The program builds the capacity of journalists on the need to accurately report LGBTQI+ stories by using the correct terms.

It also trains lawyers on the need for effective legal representation for LGBTQI+ cases and understanding the SSMPA (Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act 2014).

The fellowship is designed to challenge and change how narratives about LGBT people are reported in Nigeria’s media and legal settings. We are not only creating alternative narratives but supporting our fellows to tell human stories regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.

Who should apply?

You should apply for this program if you are:
1. A lawyer, journalist, OAP, blogger, content creator, media personality, and legal practitioner, irrespective of sexual orientation and gender identity.
2. Based in Nigeria.
3. 18 years and above.
4. Moderate command of the English Language.
5. Passionate about creating social and economic change(s).
