Zainab Adakole is a radical LGBTQ rights activist born in Kano state Nigeria, on the 5th of January 1993. She is a graduate of Bayero university Kano, with a Bachelors of art in education, and Nigeria certificate in Education.

She is a teacher, a scholar at the Bisi Alimi Foundation’s Rainbow Academy, a finalist in the 2020 Nigeria prize for difference and diversity and is currently a member of the board of directors at Initiative for Rights And Gender Equality.

Since 2017, till date she has been a volunteer community peer counsellor, offering counselling service to queer youth in need.

She is a queer Muslim who’s breaking stereotypes in Northern Nigeria through her strong advocacy for the rights of LGBTQ persons within and outside the region.

She recognizes the power of social media as a strong tool for advocacy and is using her social media to advocate for LGBTQ rights.

She is an ambitious and optimistic woman whose hubbies includes meeting new people, starting a good conversation, listening to music, hiking and extreme adventure sports.
