Communications and Fundraising Officer

Job Title: Communications and Fundraising Officer

Salary: N120,000-N150,000

Closing Date: 18th February 2022

Job Overview

We are looking for a Communications Officer with fundraising experience to work with our organization to increase our visibility and revenue. This position involves developing effective campaigns, sourcing for new sponsors and individual donors, and managing all communications for the foundation. Key Tasks

  • Manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels.
  • Develop, write and edit communications materials, including, newsletters, blog posts, reports, and social media content.
  • Promote communications and marketing materials through appropriate social channels.
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors and identify potential sponsors.
  • Develop, launch and manage fundraising campaigns and events that will lead to a donation.
  • Track analytics and create reports detailing successes and failures of communications fundraising campaigns.
  • Monitor, track analyze and report on performance on social media platforms.
  • Ensure that all communications and marketing material aligns with organization standards.
  • Work with the team to conceptualize and implement communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations and individual sponsors.
  • Undertake audience research.
  • Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization.
  • Regularly update donors on information about the organization’s work through the newsletter and social media platforms.
  • Writing reports.

 

Core Skills

  • Experience in communications and email marketing
  • Understanding the best practices of main social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, and Twitter.
  • Must possess exceptional verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills, and be able to curate engaging and accurate content.
  • Strong communication who works well independently and with a team
  • Strong knowledge of Mailchimp, Canva, etc.
  • Understanding of communications, public relations, and email marketing best practices.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts and revenue through campaigns.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience in a fundraising position
  • Creativity and persuasion skills.

Finance Officer

Job Title: Finance Officer

Salary: N100,000 (Starting Salary)

Location: Lagos

Closing Date: 18th February 2022

Job Overview

The Bisi Alimi Foundation is looking for a Finance Officer to take charge of our financial activities by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements.

You should be familiar with audits, invoices, and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You should also have excellent organisational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.

Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures.

Our ideal candidate should have skills in excel and Xero accounting software

Responsibilities

  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
  • Prepare balance sheets
  • Process invoices
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Update internal systems with financial data
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Participate in financial audits
  • Track bank deposits and payments
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Review and implement financial policies

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience using financial software including MS Excel and Xero
  • Knowledge of financial regulations
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Sharp time management skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data

Programs Intern

Job Title: Programs Intern 

Salary: N60,000

Location: Lagos

Closing Date: 18th February 2022

Job Overview

The Program Intern is responsible for supporting the L&D Officer with the coordination of the training programs at the Bisi Alimi Foundation and this includes; Media Justice Fellowship, Rainbow Academy, Workplace diversity training. Other key duties include liaising with the communications team for content creation, logistics during in-house programs, and coordination of the Alumni groups. The position reports directly to the Learning and Development Officer.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and coordinating the Rainbow Academy and Media Justice Fellowship Telegram groups, Newsletter, and other forms of communication with the scholars, fellows, and alumni.
  • Responsible for creativity and engagement of the telegram groups.
  • Responsible for innovation and research to disseminate useful information and opportunities available to the scholars and fellows outside BAF.
  • Responsible for coordination of programs activities (physical and online
  • Submit a monthly report on the 19th of each month to the L&D officer for approval
  • Take full and direct responsibility to support to manage all aspects of assigned projects from initial stages of contract award and negotiation through to completion;
  • Provide assistance to ensure projects run on time and budget;
  • Provide assistance to ensure quality and timely submission of all project deliverables and documentation as assigned by the L&D and/or CD;
  • Create, Maintain and regularly update the Project folder in Google Drive for each assigned project
  • Effectively communicate with the L&D officer and CD for any issues related to assigned projects
  • Help with the timely submission of all reporting including receipts and invoices to donor agencies for the assigned projects in line with the budget allocation and program narrative

Professional Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree
  • Experience in the use of MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Team
  • Effective in Social Media Management and Content Creation
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Ability to convey a vision of the Bisi Alimi Foundation’s Training vision and mission in line with accelerating social acceptance of LGBT people in Nigeria
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
