Internship Role - Media Justice Fellowship Program officer (PO) support

Internship Timeframe

This internship is for only six months and will require you to work remotely. We will be providing interns with data support at the end of the month.

N.B: Must own a PC or laptop for ease of work.


Job Description

As an intern PO for the Media Justice Fellowship, you will be required to.

Group Chat

  1. Daily Check-ins with the fellows on the Telegram group
  2. Collect and document all the works of the fellows on SharePoint site provided.
  3. Research and share opportunities, events, scholarships, etc that are beneficial to the group.
  4. Bi-monthly check-ins with fellows on their work plan projects.

Social Media

  1. Brainstorm on weekly or monthly SM content for our SM platforms as it relates to the fellowship.
  2. Update all our SM platforms with contents from before and after the residential training and all other physical and virtual activities.

Recruitment & Residential training

  1. Assist the program officer during recruitment to cross check all applicants SM handles.
  2. In charge of setting up interview meeting during the recruitment.
  3. Collect and document all new recruit’s biodata on SharePoint site provided.
  4. Work with the Program officer before and during the residential training to organize all the requirements needed. E.g., catering, logistics, accommodation, training manual, power point presentation, stationeries, etc

Newsletter and Reporting

  1. Work with the program officer in writing the program’s newsletter.
  2. Monthly reporting of actvities.

Skills required.

  1. Must know how to use Microsoft office tools (at least basic knowledge)
  2. Must be tech savvy, excited and willing to learn.
  3. Must have organizational and time management skills.
  4. Must be assertive.
  5. Should have some knowledge on the use of some creative tools. E.g., Canva.
